The Mentorship Program is organizing a workshop on October 28th, 2006. Christopher Robinson and I will be providing a day-long workshop on ASL Storytelling.
In this workshop, we will look at the differences between ASL and English storytelling, primarily focusing on how characterization and personality types/profiles are used in ASL. The presenters will introduce P.A.C.E., a pneumonic device for four components essential to developing character in ASL storytelling and narratives: Perspective, Attitude, Character and Emotion.
After becoming acquainted with the P.A.C.E. framework and how it applies to the work, participants will identify areas for improvement in their own storytelling and will work in small groups to enhance particular features (Perspective, Attitude, Character or Emotion). The day will include lecture and small group work with feedback from peers and presenters.
Be the first to leave oohs and ahhs!
