2009 – My Reflections
Good afternoon, folks.
This morning, I realized that we started off this year with a brand new African American President and that I will be starting off my first 2009 show at a District of Columbia Area Black Deaf Advocates fundraiser event in Fredrick, Maryland! I couldn’t think of a better event to kick off 2009 than this. As we all know, African Americans have waited a long time to witness such change like this and I look forward to celebrate with members of DCABDA on February 6th, 2009 and to help bring change that we need within our Black Deaf community. For more information about the event, please take a look at my calendar.
While musing about new beginnings that 2009 will bring, I recognized that this year marks my 5th year running The Rosa Lee show as well as my last. Yes, that’s right… I have decided to hang up my red shoes and focus on other projects that Damon and I have been working on. I will, of course, continue to create videos and hope to release another DVD similar to Tracy Ullman’s Show, doing spoofs like My Deaf Lady and so on. All in all, I look forward to new beginnings and to continue to expand my work as an artist.
Finally, on a personal level, this year is also the year that I am getting married. This also means that 2009 will be my first year as Mrs. Timm. Now, that’s gonna take a while for me to adjust after being a Gallimore for 32 years. :)
I wish you a very happy New Year and I’ll be seeing you around.
Hugs

don’t have a website yet but working on it. I was asked and admonished to check out you website and sure enough I am impressed! I started learning sign language after on e of my very good friends at the age of thirteen became completely deaf. I loved her and wanted to be able to communicate to her so she taught me all she could and then got me hooked up with someone who could teach me more. I am now 37 and still sign even if there aren’t any deaf around. Signing is awesome and a miracle and beautiful. I live in orlando when will you bring your show here?
