News Flash! DYCC Postponed
News Flash!
The dates for Deaf Youth Camp of Color (DYCC) have been postponed to Sunday, June 27th – July 11th, instead of June 13-27, 2010. The main reason for the change is that most of the schools along the east coast will close around the second and third week of June and they wish to send some of their students to the Camp.
Students within the ages of 13-17 need to schedule a flight to Portland, Oregon for Thursday the 24th of June to attend the National Deaf People of Color Conference. They will stay at cottages at the Washington School for the Deaf, Vancouver, Washington, near Portland during the conference weekend. Then on Sunday, June 27th, they will go to Camp Taloali in Stayton, Oregon.
The deadline for the complete application and payment for the camp is being extended to June 1st. Send all documents to: DYCC/attn: Laurene E. Simms, 800 Florida Ave., NE #2090, Washington, DC 20002.
Please contact the DYCC Administration Team for more information. The DYCC Administration Team includes Tim Albert, Alim Chandani, Diana Cho, Shilpa Hanumantha, and Ivy Velez. The DYCC email address is: dycc2010@gmail.com.
