Versa Effect Synopsis:

From their childhood years to working at a Deaf school in Texas, Jackie and Seth have always love to…HATE each other! The fact that they are working closely in the same school did not help matters. For all their bad blood with each other, something bad had happened to them: their bodies have been switched! What follows is a series of laugh-a-minute hijinks as Jackie and Seth struggle to get back to their bodies. Because of that, they have no choice but to work together in order to save themselves. With time running out, Jackie and Seth must find a way to get back in their bodies before they get stuck in the opposite sex of bodies forever! Versa Effect is the first comedy film directed by the venerable Mark Wood

DEAF MUSIC CAMP FOR ADULTS: REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

Deaf Music Camp (DMC) is now accepting deaf and hard of hearing adults from age 18 and older to our program. Adult session will be held at The Holley Family Village in Brooklyn, Michigan during the week of July 17-23, 2011. High school program will occur the following week.

“We’re thrilled that we’re be able to open up our program to deaf and hard of hearing adults. Our goal is to bring deaf and hard of hearing musicians together so that we can brainstorm and explore the concept behind “Deaf Music”. Hopefully, in the end, we’ll be able to develop a solid curriculum for deaf music programs abroad,” said DMC Director, Rosa Lee Timm.

DMC offers deaf and hard of hearing high school teens and adults an unique opportunity to immerse themselves in blend of visual and audio arts designed specifically for deaf artists. Our program consists of four main areas of focus that students will be exposed to, learn from, and build on. They are: Music & Sound, Multimedia Arts, Dance & Movement, and Song Translation.

The Holley Family Village, where DMC will be held, is owned and operated by The Holley Institute which offers educational and recreational programs for the Deaf, Deaf/Blind and hard of hearing since 1996. It is situated on 214-acres of quiet woodland in the Irish Hills of Michigan, overlooking beautiful Vineyard Lake.

“The Holley Institute is proud to be offering the first ever Deaf Music Camp at the Holley Family Village,” said Kathryn Kinville, Coordinator of the The Holley Institute. “We are delighted to team up with Rosa Lee Timm for this new and exciting endeavour.”

Registration for the camp is now open. To register, please visit our website: http://deafmusiccamp.com. Deadline is June 20th, 2011.

DEAF MUSIC CAMP AUDITION DEADLINE EXTENDED

The deadline for this summer’s Deaf Music Camp (DMC) audition will be extended from March 15th, 2011 to April 20th, 2011. The deadline has been extended in response to numerous requests from students asking for more time to submit their work. In connection with this extension DMC is appealing the general public to encourage young student artists to audition for the camp.

DMC is an unique summer program for deaf and hard of hearing students from ages 14 to 18. The camp will be held at Brooklyn, Michigan on July 17-29, 2011. Our program offers students an opportunity to immerse themselves in a learning experience that allows them to explore the use of visual and audio art through four mediums of art: Music & Sound, Multimedia Arts, Dance & Movement, and Song Translation.

DMC is also seeking sponsors and donors to support and help defer the cost of hosting DMC. If you, or any business you know, may be interested in becoming a sponsor please e-mail Jasun Hicks (jasun@deafmusiccamp.com), DMC Marketing Director, with the appropriate contact person, business name (if applicable), phone number and e-mail address of the potential sponsor(s) you would like us to contact.
